Large quarto (30 cm) in full brown morocco, five raised bands, gilt titles and decorations, a.e.g., moire epps. Three colour frontispieces on literary themes (Death of Minnehaha) and 250 photogravures, etchings, wood engravings, and ‘typogravures’ tissue-guarded with notes. A reference work with brief biographic notes on noteworthy and obscure literary figures, authors and authoresses, with additions, known and otherwise, for the American edition, in full-dress decorator’s bindings. Stops after the letter ’s’— Preface refers to its ‘1200 pages’ (!?). Bottom edges lightly scuffed, library labels; otherwise Fine. Price: $300.00
