Quarto (27 cm) in contemporary calf, gilt titles and decoration, marbled endpapers; sixty-two copperplate engravings, two engraved frontispieces (Part I with engraved frontispiece, a table, and 44 plates; Part II with frontispiece and 16 plates by Toms after Price). A few mended tears not affecting the engravings, neat repairs to spine. Previous owner’s pencilled signature ‘A. Whitman/ Montreal’ on ffep, illegible library stamp.
