Chatham: Shepherd, 1939. First edition, signed by Tanser (pp. 185, index). Octavo (22 cm) in red publisher’s cloth, gilt titles. "A Condensation of a Thesis Submitted in Conformity With the Requirements for the Degree of Doctor of Pedagogy in the University of Toronto” in which Tanser analyses the results of various test administered to children in his district (he was Superintendent of Schools for the county board of education). In this instance a comparison of test results of black children with those of the general population suggests their performance was affected by their reduced circumstances (they did poorly because they were poor). Lightly rubbed; otherwise Near Fine.
