Kidd, Martha Ann
Peterborough's Architectural Heritage
Seller ID: 1969
Peterborough: PACAC, 1978. First edition (pp. vii, errata, 176). Quarto (28 cm) in stiff wraps, with several hundred captioned black and white photo’s of ‘existing structures erected prior to 1890 in the area bounded by the Otonabee River, Parkhill Road, Park Street and Townsend Street’. The captions lack detail and the photographs are not reproduced to a high standard. In the result, a picture album assembled without an informing theme, but it was, nevertheless, work which needed doing and which could be carried forward-- as, for example, a pictorial record of the houses found in the old west end, an area which has of late been formally recognized as of some architectural interest. Front cover lightly worn; stapled binding is firm and the text clean.
