Small octavo (18 cm) specially bound in three-quarter calf over complimentary marbled paper; five raised bands, titles and fancy gilt decorations in panels; edges marbled; matching marbled epps. Each volume with an engraved portrait of an English queen as a frontispiece. Two of the Strickland sisters stayed at home and pursued writing careers while Susanna and Catharine Parr lit out for Canada. An unusually handsome set.
