Quarto (23.5cm), pictorial soft covers, several hundred b&w photo illustrations of sophisticated ornaments and furniture-- statuary, fountains, sundials, benches, armillaries, planters, and bird baths (and, yes, they would sell you a nicely painted black jockey hitching post). Some of the better designs the work of Sylvia Judson Shaw (1897- 1978), best known for her 'Bird Girl' (1936); Paul Manship (1885- 1966), prominent American sculptor and creator of Rockfeller Center's Prometheus fountain (for a lengthy sketch of whose career see www.p-synd.com/manship); also designs by Rachel Hawks, Ruth Yates, Ruth Dean, Annette Hoyt Flanders, C-L.
