Over four thousand items catalogued and described in this volume which was followed two years later by a supplemental catalogue listing fifteen hundred more items. Volume II. First edition (xxxii, 353, append., index, adverts). Tall octavo in full leather; catalogues and describes more than fifteen hundred items in addition to the more than four thousand to be found in the first volume. 'The whole', as Hugo immodestly and accurately points out, 'described from the Originals contained in the largest and most perfect collection ever formed, and illustrated with a hundred and eighty cuts.'
