Includes maps, lists of breeding birds, photographs of the countryside, relief drawings, etc. In short, as complete an account of the birds and their habitats as could be imagined, with sketches of the human environment as well (in the manner of "The natives were surprisingly intelligent..."). In blue cloth, gilt titles to spine. Tight bindings and clean text and illustrations. Call numbers in ink on spines and several unobtrusive marks as from a private library. A very nice set of a hard to find, comprehensive study.
