Eight chapters on the rise and development of the practice of landscape design are illustrated by more than 100 full-page b&w and colour plates showing a hundred years' worth of projects and installations (beginning, of course, with a photo of Olmsted and Vaux sauntering in Central Park). A splendid retrospective.
