Starke and ten past presidents of the ASLA (Stone, Woener, Neal, Martensen, Bennett, Man, Otsuji, Leslie, Dunbar, Schach) and several medalists (Osmundson, Lewis, Zube, Fabos, Stone). Eight chapters on the rise and development of the practice of landscape design are illustrated by more than 100 full-page b&w and colour plates showing a hundred years’ worth of projects and installations (beginning, of course, with a photo of Olmsted and Vaux sauntering in Central Park). A splendid retrospective.
